Hot air balloon

If you’d like to see the Dordogne Valley’s cliffs, wooded slopes and hilltop villages from a very different angle, you could opt for a pleasure flight in a hot-air balloon, or more daringly take off from the cliffs for a tandem flight in a hang-glider or paraglider. Gliding silently above the countryside will give you a magnificent bird’s eye view of the layout of the landscape below, revealing hidden gems that you would never see from the ground.

23rd – 24th September 2017

In September, the village of Rocamadour welcomes the biggest hot-air balloon festival in Europe called ‘Les Montgolfiades’ that offers the amazing sight of dozens of balloons filling the air and taking part in races.

13th – 15th October 2017

The village of Saint-Emilion will be filled with 15 hot air balloons for its own ‘Montgolfiades’ in October. You can either stay on the ground and watch the balloons flying above or you can book a flight and see Saint-Emilion, its vineyards and the river from a unique point of view!
