The Gardens of Marqueyssac lie on cliffs above the Dordogne Valley and are the most visited gardens in the Périgord. Laid out in the 19th century on the grounds of a manor house, they offer more than six kilometres of shaded paths bordered by 150,000 hand-pruned box trees, one hundred years old.

At the height of the garden is the Belvedere, which at 130 metres above the river gives an exceptional view of the Dordogne Valley.

The Gardens of Marqueyssac are green gems of the local heritage and are listed as a National Historic Monument. Since 2017, visitors can admire an authentic Allosaurus dinosaur skeleton.

The flickering lights outline the cliff walk and highlight the beauty of the rocks and the vegetation.

It is a peaceful pleasure to wander through the garden’s alleys animated by musical entertainment.
