The Château de Val was built in the 15th century and has been perfectly preserved. It stands proudly on its own small peninsula jutting into the lake formed by the creation of the Bort-les-Orgues hydro-electric dam and its reflection in the still waters shows just how elegant the building is.
From the Saint Blaise gothic chapel to the immense furnished rooms there is a surprise round every corner. There are frequent, prestigious art exhibitions and concerts during the summer.
