Curemonte is built on a ridge between two valleys and boasts three châteaux which are tightly grouped around an attractive covered market place and a 12 th C Romanesque church.

There are also several fine noble residences, as well as a corn exchange dating back to the early 19 th C. The village developed during the 11 th C when it came into the possession of the Viscounts of Turenne.

Two other churches stand outside the main village. The 11 th C Romanesque church of La Combe is one of the oldest in the Limousin and the other, the 12 th C. Saint Genest is now a museum of sacred art.
